Bomb hoax at Nuclear Fuel Complex in Hyderabad

The bomb squads of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and local police swung into action immediately.

On March 17, the NFC received a letter saying that a bomb has been placed in the civil engineering department.

Hyderabad: A letter warning that an explosive has been placed in the civil engineering department building at the Nuclear Fuel Complex created panic.

The bomb squads of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and local police swung into action immediately.  Later, the report turned out to be false. Alwal ACP Syed Rafeeq said the alert was false and it was done by a nuisance monger.

On March 17, the Nuclear Fuel Complex authorities received a letter by post saying that an explosive has been placed in the four storeyed civil engineering department building located in the Nuclear Fuel Complex complex.

Nuclear Fuel Complex staff immediately alerted the police. The bomb squad was pressed into service and after a thorough check, they declared that there was no explosive in the building.

“The letter was posted from Amalapuram in West Godavari district in AP on March 11 and it reached the Nuclear Fuel Complex  on Thursday. It was done by a mischief monger,” Alwal ACP Syed Rafeeq said.
