Bengaluru: Mysuru BJP MP Pratap Simha's penchant for endorsing others' tweets and stories, has boomeranged again after he endorsed a story aired on a Kannada news channel Mr Simha forwarded on his Facebook page a story on honest IPS officers going on central deputation, which  was subtly criticised by a police officer. The channel said honest IPS officers like Madhukar Shetty, Sonia Narang, Labhu Ram and Kaushalendra Kumar have started going on central deputation hinting that the state could not retain honest officers. He forwarded this message and received a  reaction from DIG prisons D. Roopa who criticised his point of view.

On realising that Ms Roopa's comments had received accolades from all sections, Mr Simha said that he had only forwarded the message.

In her Facebook post, Ms Roopa requested Mr Simha not to politicise the issue. She said, "Politicisation of the bureaucracy does not help the system and society in the long run. I know these officers personally - the ones you have mentioned in your  Facebook post/Twitter and I can vouch that none of them have raised any hue and cry about political harassment. Sir, you have said that Madhukar Shetty left the state because no good posting was given to him... The fact is that there is no post as good or bad in rules and legislations. It is the officers who make a post good or bad. Shining example of this is none other than Mrs Kiran Bedi who did wonderful work in the so called nondescript posting at Tihar Jail. We officers know when we get selected that there are no promises in government jobs about posting in the best of best places. Most of us come with a zeal to serve the rural hinterland. It is a desire of every IAS and IPS officer to serve on central deputation for enrichment of job experience. It is this desire that pulls us to the national capital,  not any push factor as brought out in your writing.”
