Bengaluru: Notorious rowdy sheeter ‘Silent’ Sunil on Saturday got membership of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and soon after his membership drew criticism from the Congress party leaders, BJP leader and Minister for Higher Education Ashwathnarayan said to cancel his membership.
In a statement, the BJP minister said that there is no connection by the BJP with ‘Silent’ Sunil and in case he has membership in the party and that steps would be initiated to get it cancelled. The Minister, however, said that BJP is not responsible if ‘Silent’ Sunil conducts campaign on behalf of the BJP.
Meanwhile, Congress leaders accused the BJP that by giving membership to ‘Silent’ Sunil, the BJP has started its ‘Rowdy Morcha.’
The Congress party questioned the rationale of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai who had stated that no rowdies would be inducted into the party. The Congress party leaders asked the Chief Minister whether he would use cow’s urine to cleanse his mouth?
