Nagarjunasagar water on its way to Andhra Pradesh

Vijayawada: The TS irrigation department on Tuesday released 1.4 tmc ft of water from Nagarjunasagar for AP following the Krishna River Management Board’s directions.

The KRMB’s instruction came after this newspaper highlighted the issue. The TS irrigation department had said that it was waiting for orders from the state government.

Besides, pump sets were being set up, the TS irrigation officials had said. Nearly 8,000 cusecs would be released daily for the Krishna delta. Meanwhile, AP irrigation minister Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao said that the AP has right to six tmc ft of water from Nagarjunasagar.
