HSC exam results: First 3 ranks from western Tamil Nadu

Erode district scores the highest pass percentage with impressive 96.92 per cent of students clearing plus-2 exams.

Coimbatore: Students from western Tamil Nadu outscored in the plus-2 exams as the first three rank holders were from Krishnagiri and Namakkal districts.
Remarkably, the Erode district in western Tamil Nadu  scored the highest pass percentage in Tamil Nadu with an impressive  96.92  per cent of the students clearing the higher secondary exam.

As the results for plus-2 exam were released on Tuesday morning, there was jubilation on several school campuses in the education hubs of western Tamil Nadu . Two students of Sri Vidya Mandir in Uthangarai in Krishnagiri, K.H. Jaswanth and V.Aarthi top-scored with 1195 marks out of 1200 and triple centums.

The third  rank holder was V.S.Veanupeethaa from SKV Matriculation school in Kandhampalaym in Namakkal, who scored 1193 out of 1200. The education hub of Erode district scored a distinction as 24,737 students out of the 25,522 students from 201 schools who wrote the plus-2, emerged successful.  “ We identified the students with poor performance and gave special coaching. This helped in increasing the pass percentage,” says P. Ayyannan, the district chief education officer.

Last year too, 96 per cent of the plus-2 students in Erode district had passed the exam, but it could only secure the third position among the districts in pass percentage.
