Nellore: Taking serious objection against public health wing officials for ignoring to restore the roads damaged for laying pipelines for drinking water improvement and underground drainage schemes, Nellore rural legislator Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy demanded the officials to declare the date by which they can set right the roads.

During a review on the works related to water and drainage schemes at the Public Health Wing executive engineers office at Maguntalayout in Nellore on Wednesday, he rebuked the engineering staff for digging up the cement, bitumen and gravel roads all over the city for laying pipelines and leaving them unrepaired. The situation is causing innumerable problems to the people living in those areas.

He dwelt at length on the ordeals of those using scooters, cars and auto rickshaws because of the ruined roads. Public health department officials, who are executing the works, assured the representative that renovation work on all the roads that were dug up and damaged would be done within two months. After coming to know about staff shortage affecting the progress of works, Mr Sridhar Reddy has advised the higher authorities of the public health department to recruit   seven more assistant engineers and two more deputy executive engineers without further delay and get the pending work executed quickly.
