Rs 2,176 crore Scheduled Castes Corporation's action plan released
Mr Prabhakar said that 1,26,519 beneficiaries will be addressed this year.
Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Scheduled Castes Cooperative Finance Corporation is aiming to address 20 lakh SC families across the state, says SC Corporation chairperson Jupudi Prabhakar Rao. He released the SC Action Plan for the year 2017-18 with Rs 2,176.99 crore here on Wednesday and said that some nationalised banks were not supporting the schemes taken up by SC Corporation which is nothing but ignoring weaker sections.
Mr Prabhakar said that 1,26,519 beneficiaries will be addressed this year. He said that the government is aiming to provide Rs 10,000 income to one person of each SC family across the state. Mr Prabhakar said that earlier governments had ignored the SC action plan and released a namesake plan in December, but this government has approved the action plan in April and heading to fulfill the dreams of the SCs.
SC Corporation managing director Vijaykumar said that the corporation is eying to distribute 200 Innova cars to the beneficiaries and 30 public supply vehicles with the support of NSFDC loans. He said that AP government is implementing land purchase scheme for SCs for the first time in the country with Rs 15 lakh in which 75 per cent is subsidy and 25 per cent will be the loan component.
Mr Vijayakumar said that SC Corporation is concentrating on helping two lakh unemployed youth who have enrolled with the corporation. Ambedkar Study centres will be established in 13 district headquarters providing quality coaching for competitive examinations, he said. He said that the corporation is taking measures to identify genuine beneficiaries and reach the grass-roots. Non-bank link applications will be taken up from May 16 and bank-linked applications will be taken up from June 1 through online.
