Vijayawada: Parents of the brides and grooms getting married on May 23 are making arrangements to telecast real-time counting updates and election results and provide free WiFi to guests.

Vedic pundits have said the auspicious wedding muhurtums in Vaisakha and Jyeshta months will fall on the 19th, 23rd, 25th, 26th, 29th and 30th days of May and further on 8th, 9th, 12th, 13th, 17th, 19th, 20th, 22nd, 26th and 27th days of June. As a result, a large number of weddings have been scheduled for May 23.

As everybody, including those who have been invited to attend the wedding, is looking forward to the election results, parents of the brides and the grooms are preparing to provide free WiFi and to telecast live counting updates and election results on the big day.

Pundit Ch Ramgopal said, “Vaisakha and Jyeshta are the sacred second and third months of the Hindu religious calendar during which charity, homams, fasting, pujas, marriages, house warming, the inauguration of new trades/businesses and other significant activities are observed to be conducted in large numbers. As May 23 has also turned out to be the counting day, it is likely that hectic political discussions will ensue at the wedding ceremonies on the day.”

Event organiser K. Ramesh said, “While some parents are arranging TV sets in the dining hall, women's partition and common spaces in function halls, some others are making arrangements to provide free WiFi for their guests on the day.”
