High Court backs takeover of private hospitals for Covid care
It further advised the state to come up with an alternate call centre, similar to 104, to help more people avail government services
VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh High Court has suggested that the state government take under its control private hospitals with requisite infrastructure for treating Coronavirus-infected patients. This would enable AP to treat more number of virus-affected patients in the state.
The court’s observation came on Monday while a division bench comprising justices C. Praveen Kumar and K. Lalitha was hearing a batch of petitions on state government’s efforts in managing Coronavirus and vaccination against the virus. It recommended that the state government evolve a system, which enables virus-infected patients to find out availability of beds in hospitals.
The High Court further advised the state government to come up with an alternate call centre, similar to 104, to help more number of people avail services being offered by the government.
The court suggested that Covid-19 appropriate behaviour be ensured at Covid vaccination centres, where people are carelessly gathering in large numbers and becoming victims of the virus.
