Etala, Rajgopal swear by BJP, slam rumour-mongers

Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party leaders Etala Rajendar and Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy on Thursday declared that they are not leaving the party and blamed some vested interests in other parties of trying to spread rumours and create dissent within the party ranks to create confusion.
Amidst an ongoing bout of strife within the party, and a day after he visited New Delhi to meet top leaders, including Union home minister Amit Shah, Rajendar took to Twitter declaring that “the BJP leaders in the state of Telangana are united and constantly strive to proudly form BJP’s government in Telangana (sic)”.
Refuting reports that there were rifts within the party leadership in the state, Rajender said, “It is not my practise to switch parties.”
He also said, “Telangana’s four crore people want KCR’s dictatorial rule to end. Only the BJP, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party president J.P. Nadda and Amit Shah would be able to do this.”
Joining him in declaring that he had no plans to leave the BJP, former MLA from Munugode, Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy said, “There is no question of my leaving the BJP. The Congress has approached me with an invitation. I left the Congress and then joined the BJP in Amit Shah’s presence. Our goal is to defeat KCR and end the undemocratic rule of BRS. I will contest from Munugode for the BJP again.”
Meanwhile, Rajendar speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the party's OBC morcha meeting, said that his discussions with Shah, and party general secretary Sunil Bansal, centred around steps and strategies to bring the BJP to power in Telangana state, and on how to win at least 12 Lok Sabha seats in the 2024 General Election.
