Hyderabad: JNTU's nod to 75 pharma colleges

The colleges were given permission after they met the requirements regarding faculty, laboratories and others.

By Tuesday, autonomous colleges will have to pay JNTU-Hyderabad crores of rupees in the form of common services fees.

Hydearabd: JNTU has given approval to 75 out of 81 pharmacy colleges that had applied for permission. JNTU registrar N. Yadaiah said the colleges were given permission after they met the requirements regarding faculty, laboratories and others. 

The Telangana Pharmacy College Managements Association said JNTU had started conducting special inspections which kept all institutions on their toes. It said Rs 15 lakh were spent by each college to update their laboratories. Faculty members were recruited through a selection committee. It said that by the end of July when the second phase of counselling is to be completed, the other colleges also get the nod.
