The doctors had announced a day-long protest on Monday and without outpatient services, hundreds of patients who had rushed to the hospitals,  returned in a helpless condition.

As per the call given by the Indian Medical Association, all the doctors participated in the protests against the attack on a junior doctor at NRS Medical College in West Bengal.

However, the doctors attended to emergency cases.
