Strive for landslide Lok Sabha win, Eshwar Khandre tells Congressmen
He advised party workers not to lose heart over the defeat in Assembly polls.
MYSURU: KPCC working president Mr Eshwar Khandre said on Tuesday that party workers should put behind the party’s defeat in recent Assembly polls and strive a landslide victory in next year’s polls to Lok Sabha. He spoke to the media after offering pooja at Chamundeswar temple atop Chamundi hills, Suttur math and Lord Srikanteswara temple at Nanjangud, on Tuesday. He said: “We will resolve problems if any during meeting of the coordination committee.”
Addressing a meeting of party workers in Mysuru, he said “Those who have worked against the party will not get any position. Severe action will be initiated against them,” he added. He advised party workers not to lose heart over the defeat in Assembly polls but move forward courageously to strengthen the party at the grass root level. “Party workers are our back bone, so their cooperation is needed. Let us take the programmes of state government forward to win all 28 seats in Lok Sabha elections,” he added.
Dr Yatindra Siddaramaiah said, “Groupism among our party members led to defeat of some of the senior leaders of our party in the recent Assembly elections. This should not be repeated in Lok Sabha elections in 2019, so we need to strengthen ourselves. And we should emerge with highest number of seats to strengthen Mr Rahul Gandhi’s hand,” he added.
