Bapatla: Stone set for reconstruction of clock tower
The new clock tower is expected to give a good recognition to Bapatla in the coming days.
Guntur: The historical clock tower in Bapatla, a landmark in the town, will be rebuilt in 100 days. The clock tower which was located at the historic Bhavanarayana Swamy temple was demolished for expansion of the road and the locals have been demanding for its reconstruction.
Bapatla MLA K. Raghupathi and MLC A. Satish Prabhakar laid foundation stone for the same at the head post office centre in the town on Thursday.
Mr Satish said Rs 20 lakh would be spent for the construction. The new clock tower is expected to give a good recognition to Bapatla in the coming days.
Mr Satish said a Sulabh Complex would be constructed at the ROB centre and also said that the expansion works of the Suryalanka road would begin in the next few days.
