Complex to have 106-foot screen, hotel and a fun zone.
Nellore: People travelling on the Chennai-Kolkata National Highway 16 can relax and watch a film on the third largest cinema screen around the globe. The theatre will come up near the fast growing Sullurpeta and Tada areas. The region has three Special Economic Zones including the popular Sri City multiproduct SEZ and Isro’s world renowned space port, Satish Dhawan Space Centre.
Besides a large screen that will be 106 foot width and can seat 670, the complex will have two more screens with 170 seats each. One of them will have Dolby Atmos advanced 3D surround sound with woofers fixed to every seat for a more mind blowing experience. Besides ample parking space and a restaurant, there are plans to construct a hotel with 30 rooms apart from a marriage hall and children’s play area in the premises.
Apart from this, there will be an all terrain vehicle track for the entertainment of the visitors. The promoters of the project, V Celluloid Entertainment LLP, who are close to film hero Prabhas, have been spending nearly Rs 40 crore for the project on seven-and-a-half acres. V Celluloid is an offshoot of UV Creations which distributed Bahubali-2 and produced several hit films including Bhale Bhale Magadivoi and Mirchi. V Celluloid CEO Vema Reddy Vamsikrishna Reddy is a native of Nellore district.
The complex will be ready for inauguration before the end of 2017 and is likely to open in the first quarter of 2018, according to Mr Venati Satish Reddy, executive for civil works. He said the 106-foot screen is a first in the country. He justified the location pointing to migration of thousands of people from various parts of the country and other nations to work in industries set up by various countries in Sri City, Apache Footwear and other SEZs in the region.
