YSRC glad as Gangula Pratap Reddy joins Telugu Desam
The induction of Gangula Pratap Reddy into the TD has brought jubilation in the camp of main rival YSRC.
KURNOOL: The induction of Gangula Pratap Reddy into the TD has brought jubilation in the camp of main rival YSRC. Mr Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, political secretary to party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, said their camp was extremely happy. He said Mr Pratap Reddy was never a member of the YSRC. Only his brother Gangula Prabhakar Reddy had joined their party and was subsequently made a MLC.
When asked how to read this development in the context of Nandyal byelection, Mr Ramakrishna Reddy said perhaps the TD wanted mr Pratap Reddy’s services to gain some votes in Gospadu mandal, but that small advantage would not make a big dent in Nandyal. He said Nandyal MP S.P.Y. Reddy was already sulking over the development, as he expected a seat for his son-in-law Sirdhar Reddy.
If Mr Pratap Reddy was invited to the TD with the promise of giving the Nandyal MP seat, Mr S.P.Y. Reddy would not work wholeheartedly for the victory of Mr Bhuma Bramhanand Reddy. That would be a ‘double advantage’ for the YSRC, he said. And the grassroots level commotion, which has started at Allagadda, could impact the Bhuma family, he claimed.
