Bengaluru: Cow dies, Bescom says our wires didn't electrocute it!
A few shopkeepers immediately alerted the local Bescom officials, who visited the spot and carried out an inspection.
Bengaluru: A big crowd gathered around a dead cow at Koramangala 6th Block on Monday afternoon and lleged that it was electrocuted because of the negligence of Bescom officials. But Bescom officials, who carried out an inspection, said that the cow might have died of natural causes as there were no live wires hanging at the spot.
As the crowd grew, many started blaming Bescom for its careless attitude and said that a pedestrian could have fallen victim to officials’ negligence. A few shopkeepers immediately alerted the local Bescom officials, who visited the spot and carried out an inspection.
A Bescom official told Deccan Chronicle that there were no live wires hanging at the spot and the cow did not get electrocuted. “As soon as we were alerted, we rushed to the spot and carried out the inspection. People started making allegations against Bescom as the cow was found dead near an electric transformer pole.”
One of the shopkeepers said he does not know the exact reason behind the cow’s death. ‘The cow was walking on the road and collapsed suddenly. We initially thought it got electrocuted as it collapsed near the transformer. But Bescom officials inspected the spot and did not find any live wires hanging,” he said.
