Congress vows to club TSRTC with government
The TPCC has invited intellectuals and activists including the balladeer Gaddar and activist Vimalakka to join the Opposition grand alliance.
Hyderabad: The Congress has promised to merge the TS Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) with the government after it wins the elections and forms the government. TS Congress president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy gave this assurance to TSRTC staff and workers unions which met him on Monday. Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy said, “We have decided to mention the merging of the TSRTC in our manifesto. Our prime goal is to provide job security for all the staff of the TSRTC. RTC unions had fought for achieving statehood but the TRS government cheated them.”
Earlier, Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy hoisted the National Flag at Gandhi Bhavan to mark the Telangana Liberation Day and criticised the TRS for not celebrating the day as an official event. “If people vote for caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, then it means that they are voting for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The BJP and TRS are colluding with each other,” he said. Meanwhile, the TPCC has invited intellectuals and activists including the balladeer Gaddar and activist Vimalakka to join the Opposition grand alliance.
“The Congress will lead the grand alliance,”party working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said. “We invite everyone who wants to be part of the people’s government. Many activists who fought for Telangana are facing trouble now, as the government is harassing them. Now is the time to form a people’s government,” he said.
