Will make H-K Kalyan Karnataka in five years: CM H D Kumaraswamy
Mr Kumaraswamy said that the demand for renaming the H-K region as Kalyana Karnataka' would only be meaningful when real development takes place.
KALABURAGI: Declaring that the all round development of backward Hyderabad Karnataka is a “big challenge” for him, Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Monday promised to strive hard for the development of the region to make it "Kalyana Karnataka" during the next five years. During an interaction with the media after taking part in Hyderabad Karnataka Liberation Day celebrations, Mr Kumaraswamy said that the demand for renaming the H-K region as ‘Kalyana Karnataka’ would only be meaningful when real development takes place.
“I have a team of young and dynamic ministers in the region. Within eight to ten days, I will visit Kalaburagi again and hold a day-long meeting to find the problems afflicting the region vis a vis implementation of Article 371(J). We have a blueprint for development. We propose to establish nine clusters for attracting investments of which four will be established at Bidar, Koppal, Kalaburagi and Ballari”, Mr Kumaraswamy added.
Disclosing that one of the main reasons for non-utilisation of funds allocated to the region was shortage of staff in many departments, the CM said, “We will take action against staff unwilling to serve in the region. We are also examining if we can make special recruitment for the region,” he added.
