Antony has been worried over the prospects of the UDF following the tussle over the candidate and the symbol.

Thiruvananthapuram: Senior Congress leader A. K. Antony will give a momentum to the UDF poll campaign at a meeting at Pala on Wednesday. A large number of Congress and UDF leaders and Kerala Congress (M) working chairman P.J. Joseph will attend the meeting in support of candidate Jose Tom Pulikunnel.

Mr Antony has been worried over the prospects of the UDF following the tussle over the candidate and the symbol. But he hopes to lift the the party workers’ morale at the fag end of the campaign like in previous elections.

 “P. J. Joseph will share the dais with the UDF leaders after Jose Tom met Joseph at his house on Tuesday,” said a KPCC office-bearer.

The UDF leadership is keen to ensure that the KC(M) group leaders do not ruffle the feathers of Joseph further. KPCC president Mullapally Ramachandran, Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala, AICC general secretary Oommen Chandy, former KPCC president V. M. Sudheeran and other senior Congress and UDF leaders will seek votes for Jose Tom.
