Uttar Pradesh government to crack whip on 2,682 madarasas
There are about 16,000 Madarasas in the state, of which 560 are fully-aided.
Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh is preparing to cancel the accreditation of as many as 2,682 Madarasas that have failed to submit their details on the Madarasa website, despite several reminders.
The state government had launched a portal of Uttar Pradesh Madarasa Board in August for online registration of all Islamic institutions in a bid to check ‘irregularities in Madarasas’.
All the Madarasas were expected to post details of teachers and other employees with their building and class measurements as well as photographs.
There are about 16,000 Madarasas in the state, of which 560 are fully-aided. But even after two deadline extensions, over 2,682 Madarasas in the state have not yet furnished their details.
