Lord rides rath, devotees in bliss

Nellore: The penultimate day of the nine-day Srivari Navaratri Brahmotsavams at Tirumala witnessed a splendid ‘Rathotsavam' event on Wednesday with the ecstatic devotees chanting ‘Govinda'.
After special rituals such as ‘Punyahavachanam' and ‘Navagraha dhyanam,’ the processional deity of Sri Malayappa Swamy and his two divine consorts were ceremoniously mounted atop the Ratham amidst chanting of Vedic hymns by temple pundits.

Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swamy, Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamy, TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal, Tirumala JEO K.S. Sreenivasa Raju, Incharge CVSO Sivakumar Reddy, temple deputy EO Haridranath, Peishkar Ramesh, VGOs Raveendra Reddy, Smt Sadalakshmi, temple staff and devotees took part.
Meanwhile, TTD joint exectutive officer K.S. Sreenivasa Raju on Wednesday asked the officials concerned to make arrangements for smooth entry and exit for all at Swami Pushkarini for holy Chakrasnanam event. The JEO said that Chakrasnanam would be conducted from 6 am to 9 am. He said that 26 swimmers and boats would be in place at the Pushkarini.
