Registration offices to work more on auspicious days

Chennai: All sub-registrar offices in the State would function more by increasing the number of property registrations on the auspicious days in the Tamil month of Aippasi, starting from October 18, acceding to popular demand, an official press release said on Tuesday.

Accordingly, the offices with a single registrar would issue 150 tokens for property registration instead of the usual 100 tokens given and offices with two registrars would issue 300 instead of 200 tokens, the release said.

Also the number of tokens issued for tatkal registrations would be increased to 12 from the present 4 for offices that do 100 registrations normally.
