Extortion in name of ACB rampant: Ravi Krishna Reddy
Ravi Krishna Reddy, alleged that extortion in the name of officials of the anti-corruption agencies were still rampant in the state.
BENGALURU: Forum for Building Bribe-Free Karnataka has alleged that extortion of government officials in the name of Lokayukta and Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) was still continuing in the state.
Addressing a press conference on Thursday, the forum’s President, Ravi Krishna Reddy, alleged that extortion in the name of officials of the anti-corruption agencies were still rampant in the state, even after the arrest of former Lokayukta Justice Bhaskar Rao’s son and his associates.
“A person, identifying himself as ACB DySP Gajendra Prasad of Mysuru, has extorted Krishna Kumar, the Executive Officer of Hunsur Taluk Panchayat in Mysuru. .”
Similarly, the caller using the same phone number had called an official of Davanagere-Harihara Development Authority claiming as ACP SP Puttamadaiah and had demanded for money, he said, adding, ”Going by these cases, it is evident that there is still rampant extortion in the name of ACB and Lokayukta officials.
