N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Akbaruddin Owaisi, Danam Nagendar file nominations
TD candidate from Kukatpally N. Suhasini, the grand-daughter of party founder N.T. Rama Rao, also filed her nomination on Saturday.
Hyderabad: Several prominent leaders of the TRS, Congress, BJP, Telugu Desam and MIM filed their nominations on Saturday.
TRS star campaigner K.T. Rama Rao from Sircilla and Congress working president A. Revanth Reddy from Kodangal will file their papers on Monday, the last date for filing of nominations. They will be joined by senior Congress leaders K. Jana Reddy (Nagarjuna Sagar) and Ponnala Lakhmaiah (Jangaon).
Among those who filed their nomination papers on Saturday were TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, MIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi, the BJP’s G. Kishan Reddy and TRS newcomer Danam Nagendar.
Before handing over his nomination papers to the returning officer at Suryapet for the Huzurnagar seat, the TPCC president visited the Lord Ganesh in the town and got the documents blessed by priests. He told his followers that he would win the seat by a 70,000-vote margin.
He said that the Congress-led Mahakutami would come to power and the Cabinet would have representatives of the Congress, Telugu Desam, CPI and the Telangana Jana Samiti.
In Bandlaguda, Hyderabad, four-time MIM Akbaruddin Owaisi along with his son Nooruddin Owaisi and party leaders reached the mandal revenue officer’s office in a rally and filed his nomination paper before the returning officer for the Chandrayanagutta constituency.
Mr. Kishan Reddy, floor leader of BJP in the recently dissolved Assembly, filed his papers for the Amberpet constituency. He was accompanied by Union minister Jitendra Singh, BJP MP Bandaru Dattatreya and party leaders.
Mr Nagender, former Congress minister and TRS nominee, filed his nomination papers from the Khairatabad constituency after taking out a huge rally from his house to the office of the returning officer.
He claimed that he would win the seat with a majority of 50,000 votes. Mr Nagender faced defeat in 2014 at the hands of BJP nominee Chintala Ramachandra Reddy.
