HYDERABAD: Four assistant planning officers working as assistant zonal officers were transferred on Saturday and ordered to report to the director, planning department at the head office.

The four officials P. Krishna Murthy, G.V.R.R. Prasad, Satyanarayan and S. Umashankar were overseeing the demolition drive at various locations in the city. Meanwhile, HMDA commissioner T. Chiranjeevulu appointed planning officers G. Jayalakshmi, B. Bheem Rao, S. Ramesh Babu and T. Satyanarayana Murthy in place of the transferred staffers.

Meanwhile, insiders said this will not have any impact on the demolition drive as higher ranked planning officers were appointed in place of the assistant planning officers. Some of the transferred staff were found favouring encroachers by not demolishing illegal buildings.
