Hyderabad: Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs) have been planned for Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University and its affiliated colleges following an academic audit in JNTU. The FDPs will be held in core subjects of engineering and will focus on latest developments and research conducted in engineering.
Earlier, FDPs were conducted in a few colleges affiliated to JNTU on computer science in March which received a good response from those who attended. The programmes were free-of-cost and did not require registration with the faculty of JNTU.
Officials from JNTU-H said all FDPs held in future will have hands-on sessions as well. Resource persons invited from NIT, IIIT, OU and other prestigious institutions too have assured officials that they will develop content for the training sessions. Vice chancellor of JNTU-H, A. Venugopal Reddy, said, “FDPs will end up benefiting students and help them gain more knowledge and skill from teachers. We hope that it will also lead to better employment opportunities for our students.”
