Temple tragedy: One more woman dead, her husband died on friday

Mysuru: One more woman, who was taken ill after consuming prasada at Kichuguththi Maramma temple in Chamarajanagar district, died on Monday morning. The body of Milli Bai, 35, from Kotepode village was handed over to her three children after autopsy.
With this, the toll in the temple tragedy has risen to 14. Eighty seven more devotees are being treated at 11 hospitals in Mysuru and four hospitals in Chamarajnagar district. Milli Bai’s husband died on Friday and was cremated while she was unconscious at JSS Hospital, unaware of his death. Their daughter, Priya Bai, who did not go to the temple, but ate the prasada brought home by her parents, was treated at JSS Hospital. She was sent home in an ambulance along with the body of her mother to perform the last rites. Having lost their parents, Priya and her elder sister, Rani Bai, and younger brother, Rajesh Nayka, were distraught near the mortuary as they received their mother’s body.
