TVG to inaugurate Thyagaraja Aradhana
National cultural programmes, as part of the Aradhana' will be held on January 23.
Thanjavur: The 172nd ‘Aradhana’ of the great saint-composer Sri Thyagaraja will be held at the saint's ‘Samadhi’ on the banks of Cauvery at Thiruvaiyaru between January 21 and 25, 2019, according to Mr.Chandru Moopanar and Suresh Moopanar, trustees of Sri Thyagabrahma Mahotsava Sabha, which organises the annual event.
Speaking to presspersons after taking part in the ‘Pandhakal Muhurtham’ for the festival at Thiruvaiyaru on Monday, they said that the festival will be inaugurated by the renowned Carnatic and Hindustani musician, T.V. Gopalakrishnan on January 21, 2019.
On January 25, rendering of ‘Pancharathna Kritis’ in chorus by hundreds of musicians will take place to pay homage to the saint, who attained ‘Samadhi’ on ‘Bushya Bagula Panchami’ day. National cultural programmes, as part of the ‘Aradhana’ will be held on January 23.
