Disha rape-murder case: Sajjanar encounters God Almighty

Kurnool: Cyberabad police commissioner Vishwanath Channappa Sajjanar who is at the centre of the controversial recent encounter killing of the four accused in the Disha rape-murder case at Chatanpally, sought Divine solace at an ancient temple in Anantapur last weekend.
Soon after attending to proceedings at the SC that resulted in the formation of a three-member panel to go into the details of alleged exchange of fire that led to the killing of the four accused, Sajjanar and his family visited Lepakshi in Anantapur to worship the family deity Veerabhadra Swamy on Saturday. Sajjanar is a devotee of Lord Shiva. His trips to Srisailam are legendary, according to a priest there.’ Clad in white, Sajjanar reportedly performed puja for absolution from errors and exceptions, professional or otherwise. On hearing of his visit to the temple, villagers flocked for a darshan’of Sajjanar whom they (and many others) consider a national hero.
