Tamil Nadu youth steps off moving train, dies
Four of a family sustained severe injuries after the car they were travelling in rammed into a road divider near Yetteri of Chittoor.
Tirupati: A 27-year old man from Tamil Nadu was killed after he came under a moving train while attempting to alight from it at Nagari railway station on Friday. The deceased was crushed under the unit fast train, travelling from Chennai to Tirupati, at around 10 am in the morning.
GRP, Renigunta SI M.V. Anil Kumar said, S. Rajesh, a petty shop owner from Kodakkal village in Vellore district of Tamil Nadu, tried to get down from the train while it was still moving before its halt at the station.
When he jumped off the train, he lost his balance and fell in the gap between the platform and the train, and was immediately crushed under the wheels. A case was registered and the body was sent for autopsy.
Meanwhile, in another incident, four of a family sustained severe injuries after the car they were travelling in rammed into a road divider near Yetteri of Chittoor district on Friday. The injured were identified as Chandra Sekhar Reddy, his wife Sujatha, daughter Meghana and son Yuva Kishore. The local police admitted them in a nearby hospital, where their condition was said to be stable.
