Telangana state govt to fund studies of 42 students abroad
They will be taking up courses in agricultural sciences, management, medicine, nursing, social sciences and humanities.
Hyderabad: Around 42 Scheduled Caste students from Telangana state have been selected for studying overseas as part of the Ambedkar Overseas Education funding Scheme.
The certificate verification and other formalities have been completed during the screening process. A total of 48 students had applied for funding of their overseas education.
The selected students will be heading to countries like the US, UK, France, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Germany, Japan, New Zealand and South Korea to pursue their education. They will be taking up courses in agricultural sciences, management, medicine, nursing, social sciences and humanities.
The state government will spend Rs 20 lakh on each student for completing the courses.
