HANAMKONDA: As many as 69 staff members of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) Hospital tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday. They include hospital superintendent B. Srinivas Rao.

Coronavirus has been spreading alarmingly in Hanamkonda district since past few days. Three days ago, 42 medical students of Kakatiya Medical College working as junior doctors at MGM Hospital tested positive.

A sad development of Covid-19 spread in MGM is that relatives of several in-patients have abandoned them at the hospital. The number of out-patients has also decreased with people fearing to approach the hospital.

There are many persons in the district infected who are undergoing treatment for Coronavirus while being under home isolation.
