Chilakaluripeta to become satellite city for capital: CM Naidu

Naidu inaugurated smart urban police station and laid foundation for development works worth Rs 450 crore.

Chilakaluripeta: Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu attracted the public by explaining the history of Chilakaluripeta and added that Andhra Pradesh will become Open Defecation Free (ODF) state following Sattenapalli, Narsaraopeta and Chilakaluripeta.

Mr Naidu came to Chilakaluripeta on Thursday, launched Swachh Chilaka-luripeta celebration, inaugurated smart urban police station and laid foundation for development works worth Rs 450 crore.

Addressing a public meeting, Mr Naidu said that Chilakaluripeta is synonym for political awareness and it was once called Chilakala Kota, Raju Gari Kota and Purushottapatnam.

He said that situated very near to the new capital Amaravati, it would develop swiftly as an important city. He said that under houses to all scheme, Chilakaluripeta got 4,512 houses and Rs 850 crore was sanctioned to Chilakaluripeta bypass road.

He praised Chilakaluri-peta public of becoming a role model to others by constructing 20,500 toilets shunning open defecation and added that AP will soon become ODF state with the eradication of open defecation. He said that 4,500 LED lights were sanctioned and vowed to fulfill all promises.

Mr Naidu said that Chilakaluripeta is a satellite city of Amaravati. Praising the smart urban police station, he asked the policemen to work smartly with the help of technology and to serve the public. He said Rama Rajyam is not an impossible task and asserted the need for awareness.
