Chinnaraj is Kongu outfit’s candidate for Namakkal

Chinnaraj, who will be contesting on the DMK\'s symbol in this Lok Sabha polls, met the KMDK president Easwaran to get his blessings.

Namakkal: The Kongunadu Makkal Desiya Katchi (KMDK), a constituent of the DMK-led alliance for the April 18 Lok Sabha polls, has fielded A K P Chinnaraj as its candidate for the Namakkal constituency.

A founding member of the Kongu Velalar Goundar Peravai, founded by Kovai Sezhiyan since its inception, 53-year-old Chinnaraj, has been a member of the state executive of the KMDK for the last ten years. He is also now president of the Poultry farmers association here. He hails from Pazhanthinnipatti panchayat in Rasipuram taluk of Namakkal district and had unsuccessfully contested the Rasipuram Assembly seat as an independent in the 1996 Assembly polls.

Chinnaraj, who will be contesting on the DMK's symbol in this Lok Sabha polls, met the KMDK president Easwaran to get his blessings after the party announced his candidature.
