Indira Canteen food not safe, says BJP corporator

The lab reports revealed that the food from the canteen contain harmful bacteria which can lead to various health issues.

Bengaluru: “Lab reports have confirmed that food served at Indira Canteen is not fit for consumption. Food samples collected from different canteens from the city were sent for tests at Ramaiah Advanced Testing Lab and Public Health Institute,” said BJP corporator Umesh Shetty.

The lab reports revealed that the food from the canteen contain harmful bacteria which can lead to various health issues. Samples of rice, sambar and bisi bele bath were collected from various canteens across the city and sent to lab. He suggested immediate action on the contractors who have not maintained standards in food.

Replying to the lab reports, deputy chief minister Dr Parameshwar said that he has directed officials to check the quality of food provided in all the canteens and take action against the contractors of the food served is not fit for consumption.
