New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday granted two months time to Kerala State Nirmadhi Kendra to complete the cleaning works of the two ponds attached to Sree Padman-abhaswami temple in Tiruvananthapuram.
A three-judge bench passed this order after taking on record the report of the administrative committee and after an assurance from the temple executive officer (EO) who is the director of the Kendra.
In a brief order the court asked the EO to honour the commitment he had made to complete the work in two months.
The court also took note of the submissions of counsel for Kerala government that the Kerala water authority will complete the cleaning of the temple tanks by May 10 to ensure that flow of sewage water into the tanks are stopped and construction debris are removed.
