All-women teams manage ‘pink booths’

Bengaluru: Pink booths or Sakhi booths managed by all- women teams in Bengaluru Central offered free sanitary napkins to the women who came to vote in the constituency.

Appreciating their presence, a voter at a “Pink booth” in Vasanth Nagar, remarked that they were a sign of women empowerment. Besides  distributing sanitary napkins free of cost, she felt the Election Commission should provide a separate room in the booths for  breastfeeding mothers to encourage more women to come out and vote.
