Another Bangla actor told to leave country

New Delhi: The Centre has asked another Bangladeshi actor Ghazi Abdul Noor to leave the countryimmediately following reports that he had campaigned for the Trinamul Congress (TMC).
Mr Noor is the second Bangladeshi actor, after Ferdous Ahmed, was also served the “Leave India’’ notice. Mr Noor was also said to be staying in India despite the expiry of his visa.
Home ministry officials claimed that “appropriate action is also being taken regarding his overstay in contravention of visa rules.”
Reports received b-y the home ninistry revealed that Mr Noor had allegedly campaigned for Trinamul candidate Saugata Roy.
The Centre had on Tuesday issued a similar notice to Nr Ahmed and cancelled the business visa given to him as he too was found to be campaigning for the TMC candidate in Raiganj in West Bengal and even campaigned in some areas close to the Indo-Bangladesh border.
The Home Ministry initiated the action after it received a report from the Bureau of Immigration regarding visa violations committed by the Bangladeshi actors.
The BJP had on Wednesday lodged a complaint with the Election Commission after a video surfaced showing Noor purportedly campaigning for Roy in the Dumdum constituency in alleged violation of the poll code.
