Trail advocacy basically meant a replica of a real court where legal proceedings and trials take place where students who are studying law act as professional and take up all the responsibilities and duties according to their role to see their ability to think creatively and answer convincingly when questioned and show their oratory and persuasive skills. The skill of an advocate is dependent on his ability to build a case, using witnesses and documentary evidence effectively. A Trial Advocacy Competition recreated this atmosphere and allowed the students to hone their abilities in this direction.
Mr Thomas who was part of the team told Deccan Chronicle that a team is given a specific case. The team members would have to take up the role of the prosecutor and defence lawyer. They would be given witnesses. They have to give proper training to the witness and present themselves before the court to give their statement, said Mr Thomas.
