Eagerly awaited Palair results will be declared today
Palair result linked to TRS popularity on various counts.
Khammam: Not only the people of Khammam district but also the public of Telangana are waiting for Thursday when the Palair results will be declared. The outcome will be known to the public by 12 noon.
Whether the TRS dominance prevailed upon only in T-sentiment areas or spread into the other areas is the curiosity of political observers. TRS top brass has also been waiting for the result with a little bit anxiety. The result is the key to the TRS on various counts.
TRS fielded its candidate rejecting the appeals of Opposition parties which requested to make Palair unanimous for Sucharita Reddy. But Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao announced without giving much scope for the argument on the issue.
TRS will speed up its policies if it wins the seat with a huge majority. Palair will be lone TRS seat in Khammam district if Tummala wins after Bhadrachalam is be made new district after June 2. The image of minister for industries K.T. Rama Rao, who was in-charge of Palair, will be enhanced if TRS gets more votes.
Elaborate arrangements were made for Palair assembly segment byelection counting to start from 8 am on May 19 at Cotton Market yard in Khammam.
Fourteen tables and equal to fourteen rounds for counting EVMs of 243 polling stations were arranged apart from one table reserved for the returning officer.
The teams of counting should be at random and tables allotment for teams from 5 am on Thursday. There will be one in-charge for each table and another two officers will be kept in reserve. A total of 28 counting assistants will be deployed and three assistants on reserve.
A micro observer will be posted in each table and an additional micro observer will be placed at data entry table. Likewise, one additional micro observer will be deployed for general observer and row in-charge also placed for counting.
As far as agents from political parties concerned, about 132 agents applied as counting agents and 51 agents accepted. Passes have been issued to them.
