Power is back on, after four days in Hyderabad
Over 500 houses had gone without power supply for three days after Saturday's gale and rain hit the city.
Hyderabad: Residents of colonies in and around Padmaraonagar in Secunderabad finally got power supply that was snapped on Saturday evening.
Though the southern discom claimed that supply was restored to all the households on Tuesday, residents said power tripped a couple of times on Wednesday and stabilised in the evening. Over 500 houses had gone without power supply for three days after Saturday’s gale and rain hit the city.
The worst affected areas were Padmaraonagar, Venkatapuram Colony, Abhinav Nagar Colony, Skandagiri temple area, Srinivasnagar Colony and Balram Colony.
Discom assistant divisional engineer Anand Reddy said staff from neighbouring divisions was brought in and repair works to restore power supply to all the house holds in and around Padmaraonagar had been completed.
“In some houses power supply was not there as the service wire had loosened after tree branches fell on them. Even on Wednesday, we kept receiving requests from residents to trim few tree branches that could cause trouble to power supply in case of heavy wind,” Mr Anand Reddy told this correspondent.
