“The judgement is in students' favour. With a personal bond in place, the college can adjust the fee later.â€
Hyderabad: There’s temporary relief for PG medical aspirants as they will now have pay only 50 per cent of the hiked fee, while for the remaining 50 per cent they will need to submit a personal bond, according to an order issued by the Hyderabad high court on Thursday.
The order would benefit the economically backward but meritorious convener quota PG aspirants. Now, they will need to pay only Rs 3.45 lakh instead of convener fee of Rs 6.9 lakh, which is 50 per cent of the hike in fees effected by the Telangana government.
G Srinivas, secretary general, Healthcare Reforms Doctors’ Association (HRDA), said, “The order will definitely benefit the poor yet meritorious convener quota PG aspirants. We need to get clarity on the remaining personal bond paper.’’
Srujan Reddy, legal adviser for HRDA and JUDA, said, “The judgement is in students’ favour. With a personal bond in place, the college can adjust the fee later.”
