Adilabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will review the law and order situation in the Adilabad district with top police officials and ministers concerned in Hyderabad on Friday following the recent communal incidents that took place in Utnoor and Adilabad towns.
It’s learnt that top police officials, including SP M. Srinivas, additional SP, DSPs, inspectors, and SIs of police stations will participate in the review meeting to be chaired by the CM.
The meeting has also gained importance in view of the holy month of Ramzan that begins later this month.
The increase in communal incidents, especially after the state government announced 12 per cent reservations to Muslim minorities in the state will also be discussed, according to sources. The BJP and other Hindu organisations are strongly opposing reservations to poor Muslim minorities under BC ‘E’ group.
Minister Jogu Ramanna said he will request the CM to approve new technologies, including increasing the number of CCTV cameras to curb crime.
