22-year-old bank official kills self
The deceased was alone in his apartment on Thursday night, after all his room mates left for office.
Hyderabad: A 22-year-old bank professional committed suicide on Thursday by hanging himself in his apartment at Maruthi Veedhi.
Police identified the deceased as Gorthala Gopi who worked for ICICI bank as sales officer in Secunderabad. He is a native of Andhra Pradesh. He was living in an apartment with his friends.
The deceased was alone in his apartment on Thursday night, after all his room mates left for office.
On Friday morning when Gopi did not open the door after repeated knocks on the oor made by his roommates. They alerted the local police about the incident and the officials broke open the door to find Gopi hanging in his room.
“He had gone to visit his parents and had come back only yesterday from his native place,” shared Mr. Shridhar, paternal uncle of the deceased. He was shocked by the sudden death of his nephew, since Gopi did not speak of any issues about his life with him.
The cause of death is not ascertained yet and the officials are working on it, said a police official who wished to remain anonymous. A case under section 174 of CrPC (suspicious death) has been registered by the police, who are investigating the case nad trying to find out what made Gopi take the extreme step.
