Chennai: The AIADMK executive on Saturday discussed strategies to be taken up for the ensuing local body polls and passed resolutions thanking Tamil Nadu voters, particularly those residing in Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa’s R.K. Nagar constituency.

Release of adequate funds from the Centre for the development of state, interlinking of south Indian rivers and restoration of Tamil Nadu’s  fishing rights over Katchatheevu island were the key issues discussed and resolutions adopted.

Riding high on its consecutive victories, since 2011 Assembly polls, the executive committee also vowed to secure a massive win in the local body polls to be held in October.

The meeting was attended by Jayalalithaa and presided over by party presidium chairman E. Madusudhanan. “This executive committee takes a vow to bag a massive victory in the coming local body elections and the victory would be presented as a gift to party leader Jayalalithaa,” a resolution read.

Another resolution showered encomiums on Jayalalithaa for becoming the Chief Minister for the sixth time. The party also collectively attributed the credit to Jayalalithaa and thanked her for steering the victory in all polls since 2011 (assembly polls-2011 & 2016, Lok Sabha-2014 and local bodies 2011).
