Hyderabad: Union defence minister Manohar Parrikar took a dig at the TRS government for running the state based on vaastu and not on the Constitution. The state government is providing space to the Opposition. “Grab it and take up public issues,” he said. He was speaking at the Telangana State BJP executive meeting at Ramanthapur.

He said that despite the Centre’s support, the TS government was indulging in loose talk. “There should be a cordial relationship between the state and the Centre,’’ he said. “Unlike in Goa, you have a 14-per cent vote bank in Telangana.  Strive to achieve power. Take Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s programmes and policies to the people,’’ he said.

He promised to look into AOC road closure and other issues. TS BJP chief Dr K. Laxman accused the TRS government of failing to keep its electoral promises. “The BJP played a key role in formation of Telangana. We could achieve Telangana with the support of 160 MPs. If 60 MLAs win in 2019, we can create Bangaru Telan-gana,” Dr Laxman said.
