Ring road joining Thuvakkudi, Thindukkarai soon

Tiruchy: The Tiruchy District administration is making its all-out efforts for the early completion of the 43 Km length ring road between Thuvakkudi and Thindukkarai to ease existing traffic congestion in and around the Tiruchy city, according to Tiruchy Collector S.Sivarasu.

Mr.Sivarasu told newsmen soon after inspecting Rs 125 crore railway over bridge at Thiruvanaikovil in the city, along with the City Police Commissioner A.Amalraj, City Corporation commissioner N.Ravichandran and the officials of the highways department said the new ROB will be opened by the Chief Minister Edapadi K.Palaniswami through video conferencing from Chennai on tomorrow.He said the service roads on either side of the new ROB and other rectification works will be completed in the next three to four months.

He said work of erecting ring road between Thuvakkudi and Panchappur for a distance of 23 Km have nearly completed and the rest of the stretch between Panchapur and Thindukkarai is yet to be completed. The land acquisition process has been completed for a distance of 12 Kms completed and the re-tender will be awarded shortly. Efforts on for acquiring land for the remaining distance of 7 km will be taken up shortly. Moreover, as per the existing plan, the ring road passing through an irrigation tank at Panchappur and now it will be realigned without disturbing the irrigation tank, he added. 

Referring to the laying four-lane road between Jeeyapuram and Kudamurutti in Tiruchy city, Mr.Sivarasu said it is proposed to take up this work at an estimated cost of Rs 55 crores.
