35-member spl team to treat fire victims

Chennai: Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Tuesday said a special team comprising 35 doctors is providing treatment for the people affected in Kodungaiyur fire accident.
Replying to a call attention motion of DMK legislator Sudharsanam, the CM said the fire personnel with equipment had rushed to the area immediately after getting information about the accident.
The affected persons had been sent to Stanley and Kilpauk government hospitals in 108 ambulances.
Fire personnel Egaraj, who lost his life during fire-fighting, is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter. The government had issued orders to give job to one of his heirs and the family would be given Rs 13 lakhs.
Out of the 32 injured admitted to KMC, 12 persons had been taken to private hospitals following the requests from relatives. 10 persons are being treated in Stanley, he added.
