Andhra Pradesh paid Govt officials' legal fees in Jagan case

Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh government on Tuesday informed the Hyderabad High Court that the IAS officers who availed financial aid from the state government as legal assistance with regard to Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy illegal investments case have paid the advocates engaged to appear for them.
D. Ramesh, counsel for the AP government, made the submission before a division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice T. Rajani when it was dealing with a PIL by A.V. Ramana of the city, seeking to declare as illegal the action of the authorities in not considering his complaint to conduct inquiry against the six IAS officers who availed the financial assistance.
Mr Ramesh submitted that the state government sanctioned the amount to the IAS officers as legal expenses and they paid the money to their counsels.
